Armistice tribute also brings four-figure boost for Legion

-

A unique Montrose FC poppy red Remembrance strip has raised £1,100 for the Legion after being bought by local firm Carnegie Fuels.

The signed strip was auctioned off after the weekend clash with Annan Athletic, which included a poignant Armistice commemoration involving Legion standard bearers, veterans and local cadets alongside players and officials.

Lieutenant Dave Salberg and Lieutenant James Young from HMS Montrose also made the trip from the ship’s base in Plymouth.
