Tech group on track for year

Technology group Smiths said it expected to return to growth this year despite a 2% fall in underlying revenue in the first quarter of the year.

The company, whose subsidiary business Smiths Interconnect has an operation at Dunsinane Avenue in Dundee, said the fall was primarily due to order timing and its full-year financial expectations were unchanged.

The group, which is de-risking its pension liabilities, held its AGM yesterday where all resolutions were passed.
