In Travel businessman Fritz Wilson
Tributes have been paid to a successful Dundee businessman who died last week.
Fritz Wilson, 74, made his name through various ventures in the local business sector.
His most notable business achievement was the creation of independent travel firm In Travel.
With offices in Lochee, Broughty Ferry, Arbroath, Forfar and Perth, the company employed a number of staff and provided memorable and valued holidays for many local people.
Following the closure of the business in 1997, Mr Wilson went on to own a successful carpet cleaning franchise, Stainbusters Scotland Ltd, dealing with customers all over the country. He returned to the travel sector in 2001. Aside from his contributions to business, Mr Wilson will be fondly remembered for his involvement in local sport.
For many years, he successfully coached the Dundee Wasps ladies basketball team (formally the Black Ambers), taking it to local and national tournaments, as well as tournaments across Europe.
His son Ross, said: “My dad worked up until the week before he died.
“He was working from home as a self-employed travel adviser and took great pride in the fact he had a lot of loyal customers for over 20 years. He would always go out of his way to help his customers.
“He was a great dad, really understanding and supportive of us.”
Mr Wilson is survived by his wife Jackie, son Ross, daughter Danielle and mum Else.
His funeral will take place at Dundee Crematorium on Monday at 2.45pm.
