Violet face Blairgowrie test

-

North League leaders Violet head to Blairgowrie in good heart after last week’s 3-0 win over East Craigie.

They will be without the injured duo of Kit Bremner and Steven Harris while Blair are missing Greg Mcdonald, Robbie Hood and Gordon Pirie.

Kinnoull have pushed themselves into the promotion frame and welcome one of their major rivals, North End.

The Dokens are on a run of eight straight victories with Ryan Hunter and Michael Stewart their only absentees. The Perth side are boosted by the return of keeper Mac Jaffrey, Gary Crockett, Scott Sutherland and David Gray.

For Lochee Harp’s visit, Arbroath Vics are only without Kellon Lyons, but could have a couple of new signings.

Harp boss Michael Gormley is without Connaire Connelly, Sam Hodgson and Nathan Taylor, while Graham Allan and Ryan Mckillen are struggling to shake off flu. Josh Perera returns.

Harp have placed central defender Gordon Ramsay on the transfer list. Interested clubs should contact Michael Gormley on 07958 165190.

Forfar Albion manager Mark Caldwell is eagerly anticipating East Craigie’s visit. Goalkeeper Gary Grant returns to duty after being sidelined for a six weeks, but Derek Johnston is still suspended.

The Shipbuilders have a doubt over Nik Mann and Liam Mcartney has moved to Tayport.

South League Lochgelly Albert are under new management with Stevie Kowbel, formerly Brechin Vics assistant manager, having been appointed ahead of their home derby with Rosyth.

Over and above bragging rights, both sides need the points to stay in promotion contention.

Kowbel is unlikely to make any changes while Recs are also expected to have an unchanged squad following their win at Livingston United.

Kirkcaldy YM, only narrowly beaten last week at Armadale, host second-top Edinburgh United.
