Make the tree the star this Christmas

-

Tayside Forestry has got to be top of the list for those looking for a beautiful farm-fresh Christmas tree.

Run by Brian Hughes, the plantation covers over 500 acres and produces an amazing

80,000 trees. Most go to garden centres and

DIY stores, but last year

3,600 people picked up their tree in person.

Brian said: “We spend all year gearing up for Christmas. It’s always a really busy time of year for us but we love it as we get to see the excitement on everyone’s faces – not just the children’s!

“Coming to the farm for many of our customer has become a family tradition. It’s a great place to forget about the commercialism of Christmas shopping or trying to track down this year’s musthave toy.”

He added: “We sell Nordmann Fir, Norway Spruce and Fraser Fir and as well as trees, you can also pick up tree stands, wreaths and lights. You can even get firewood logs to burn over the festive period.

“Once the tree is chosen, families often treat themselves to a hot chocolate and some home baking in The Pinecone Café and perhaps choose some new baubles to decorate their tree.” This year they have a Christmas Shopping Evening on Friday 1st December. Christmas shopping doesn’t have to be a chore!

Go along to this fabulous shopping event and get into the Christmas spirit with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, enjoy 10% of a superb range of gifts and decorations, watch seasonal demonstrations and take home one of the farms popular handmade wreaths.

And keep an eye out for the gift wrapping elves who will even wrap your purchases for you!
