For the Dundee fans who made the long trip to Dingwall on Saturday, all their Christmases came at once. The Dark Blues won comfortably to secure their first away victory in the Premiership this season.
It was also the first time Dundee had posted back-to-back triumphs in the league after dispatching Rangers at Dens the previous Friday.
The defensive effort against the Staggies resulted in the second clean sheet in three matches and just to top it all off, Neil Mccann’s side scored two goals of the highest quality through Mark O’hara and Faissal El Bakhtaoui.
All of which now sees the Dark Blues sitting in ninth place in the Premiership table.
No one at Dens will be getting carried away just yet but, taking the last three results into consideration, it looks like Dundee have turned the corner after a difficult start to the campaign.
They are really starting to look like a team. It has taken a while but Mccann finally seems to have settled on what he believes is his strongest starting XI.
Every one of his players was deserving of major pass marks on Saturday from big Sofien Moussa – who had what was possibly his best game for the club up front – right through to keeper Elliott Parish.
Once again though, the standout player for me was Glen Kamara.
The former Arsenal academy midfielder is a class act – Mccann won the proverbial watch when he signed the 21-year-old – and the club should be pulling out all the stops to try to persuade the Finnish international to sign an extended contract.
