A traditional cottage in the Fife hamlet of Chance Inn has been modernised and mixes contemporary design features with country living. Jack Mckeown investigates
Chance Inn is a tiny hamlet near Ceres in Fife that’s as charming as it is charmingly named. Surrounded by countryside and within easy reach of Cupar and St Andrews, it consists of a couple of streets of pretty, traditional cottages.
They rarely come up for sale but one is now on the market. Sanaig Cottage is a terraced stone cottage with whitewashed walls and a tiled roof.
Its current owners have overhauled its interior, eschewing the traditional layout of small rooms in favour of a modern, open-plan arrangement.
