Menzieshill to continue fine form
Menzieshill can capitalise on their three wins last Saturday with two more tomorrow.
They should be more than capable of a convincing win over Edinburgh University and, despite the local rivalry which will be apparent in their second match against Wanderers, that match should also yield all three points.
Wanderers will be keen to capitalise on a good start with victory over Hillhead but whether they can add to that against Inverleith and Menzieshill is questionable.
Inverleith lost two of their three opening day games so it remains to be seen whether they can bounce back.
Menzieshill II are set to complete the first part of their programme with a 100% record.
Dunfermline Carnegie might just push them harder than Watsonians, but neither has the indoor capability as yet to slow Menzieshill II’S progress.
However, with Menzieshill II unable to claim promotion, there will be the opportunity in the post-league pool matches for teams to rise above their initial league standings.
Wanderers II play the two teams immediately below them, Watsonians and Uddingston, and so should at least retain fourth place.
Teams in the third division will reach the halfway stage tomorrow with Kelburne II leading the way and likely to claim the one promotion place available.
Harris are currently second but will have difficulty retaining that place as one of their two games is against Kelburne II.
Perthshire, a point behind Harris with a game in hand, will surely beat Granite City Wanderers who have only one point to date.
Their second match is against Harris and victory in both will take them into second place.
Monarchs have an excellent chance to move up the table with victory expected against Granite City Wanderers and Stepps and a more testing match v Aberdeen Grammar.
