Penny reunited with lost ring

-

A woman has spoken of her delight at finding her wedding ring after it went missing more than a week ago while she was shopping in Dundee city centre.

Montrose resident Penny Scoular was visiting the Overgate Shopping Centre to have the ring resized on December 10 when it fell out of her purse.

A panicked search of the centre by her and husband Marc was fruitless, so the couple posted an online appeal for help in finding the diamondencrusted ring.

Incredibly, the ring was found on Monday when it fell out of a roll of Christmas paper after a customer picked it up in the Overgate’s Clinton Cards.

Care assistant Penny, 30, said: “I received a message through Facebook from the manager at Clinton Cards to say she had good news – the ring had finally been found.

“It turns out although numerous staff had checked the rolls of paper and not located it, someone else had picked up a roll and my ring fell out of it.

“I was over the moon to receive the message.

“Ecstatic isn’t the word for my happiness.

“We picked up the ring from the manager on Tuesday with a big box of chocolates to say thank you.”

Penny and Marc were married in 2014 with plain rings, which they later swapped for more elaborate versions.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for all the comments, likes and shares on Facebook.”
