Missing: Fresh appeal launched to find son who went missing in 2013

The father of missing Allan Bryant Jr said he is struggling to face up to another Christmas without his son.

Allan Bryant said he finds the festive season particularly difficult as his family prepares its Glenrothes home for the fifth Christmas without Allan Jr.

Speaking as police investigators renewed a public appeal to help trace his son, Mr Bryant said: “Christmas is the hardest time of year for us without Allan.

“He would normally have a couple of beers and open his presents with us.

“Knowing that he is not going to be with us on Christmas morning is something we’ve just got to try and get on with.

“We will probably have a very quiet Christmas with just myself, his mum Marie and our daughters Amy and Sophie.

“We will try and make it as normal a day as possible for them, but it is hard when we know there will be a space at our dinner table again.”

Allan Jr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on November 3 2013.

He had been at Styx Nightclub on Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.

High-profile appeals have been made by both his family and the police, while searches have been conducted throughout the town and across Fife.

However, there remains no trace of Allan Jr, who would now be 28, with his father having stated on several occasions his belief that his son is dead.

Detective Inspector Stuart Wilson said any piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial in establishing what happened to the then- 23-year-old in November 2013.

As part of a renewed public campaign, he said: “Allan’s loved ones are facing their fifth Christmas without him and without knowing what has happened to him.

“So I want to take this opportunity to appeal again for anyone who has any information, no matter how small or irrelevant they may think it is, to contact police to bring answers to the Bryant family.

“Anyone who might have information should please call 101 quoting Operation Toner, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

“Christmas is the hardest time of year for us without Allan.
