University doctor accused of molesting patients

-

A former university doctor is to face trial, accused of molesting patients at a student medical centre, up to 25 years ago.

Allan Buchan, 56, is said to have touched and held the genitals of two male patients when it was not medically necessary to do so.

In the case of one of the alleged victims, it is alleged he also massaged the man’s groin.

The incidents are said to have occurred at the Airthrey Park Health Centre on the campus of Stirling University between January 1993 and May 1999, when Buchan was in practice there as a GP.

Buchan faces two charges of assault.

At Stirling Sheriff Court his solicitor tendered pleas of not guilty by letter to both charges.
