Man dies and two women taken to hospital following house fire

A man has died following a house fire in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Firefighters were called to the property in Avon Street, Grangemouth, at around 2.40am.

They put out the blaze but found that a man had died, the fire service said.

Two women were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Police and the fire service are carrying out a joint investigation to establish the cause of the blaze.
