Forfar has made a breakthrough in attracting a new industry to the town. Last night it was announced that W.R. Grace Ltd, a British subsidiary of the American chemical giant W.R. Grace & Co., New York, was establishing a plant in the town for the production of polypropylene monofilaments, used principally for carpet backing. It is the first new industry to have been attracted to the town for almost 20 years and is the second factory for manufacturing polypropylene to come to Forfar.
