Quarter-finals go to the wire

Reigning champion Glen Durrant will face two-time champion Scott Waites in the semi-finals of the BDO World Professional Championships at the Lakeside.

Durrant put out Welshman Jim Williams 5-4.

The Englishman was helped by a tournament best average of 100.92.

Waites defeated Belgium’s Andy Baetens by the same margin.

Michael Unterbuchner of Germany was a 5-4 winner over Richard Veenstra of the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the women’s final will be between Anastasia Dobromyslova of Russia, who saw off England’s Trina Gulliver 2-0, and England’s Lisa Ashton, a 2-0 winner over compatriot Deta Hedman.
