Profits and turnover up at animal feed firm
Scottish firm Davidsons Animal Feeds enjoyed a boost in turnover and profits last year.
Accounts filed with Companies House reveal the Shotts-based firm posted a 9.5% increase in turnover in the year ended July 31 2017, to £28.4 million, from £25.9m previously.
Pre-tax profits were up to £413,614, from £403,456 the year before.
In a report accompanying the accounts, the firm said: “As reported in the previous year, our industry continues to experience significant volatility caused by fluctuations in raw material prices and currency markets.
“Despite this, we have continued to increase market share in a competitive marketplace.”
The company, which employed 64 staff in the year, delivers ruminant feed across Scotland.
