Get out there and have a ball

-

If you are feeling down after the buzz of the Christmas party season, now is the time to plan some days and nights out to lift the spirits through the dark winter months.

Having a few dates in the diary, whether it is with friends or loved ones, can give the weeks a focus at this time of year.

Think about booking tickets for an upcoming sporting event or look out for concerts and tours from your favourite bands and musicians, get in there quickly to book your tickets as popular events will sell out fast.

While it’s dark outside, why not treat yourself to tickets to the theatre or a show, meet up with friends who you haven’t seen for a while or make it a regular January or February date with your family.

It’s all too easy to let the weeks and months fly by without managing to catch up with those we love to spend time with, so get those dates fixed now and you won’t find that everyone is too busy in a few weeks’ time.

A city break can be a fantastic treat for a winter weekend. Why not get away for a theatre trip or a day spent shopping with friends and treat yourselves with a stay in a hotel or self-catering apartment?

Closer to home, the theatres and concert venues have some tempting events lined up.

In Forfar, Tayside Symphony Orchestra will treat their audience to a programme of music entitled February In France on February 3.

The evening’s performance at the Reid Hall will include works by some of France’s most celebrated composers.

Over at Dundee’s Rep Theatre, an exciting double-bill from the Scottish Dance Theatre is a must see for fans of contemporary dance.

Firstly, Tutumucky by Botis Seva brings a fresh rhythmic and explosive performance to the stage, then the audience will witness the world premiere of RITUALIA by Colette Sadler.

The performances promise to be a thought-provoking visual feast.
