Laszlo looking to get one over ‘good friend’

John Robertson kicking Csaba Laszlo on the touchline during a Uefa Cup tie has long since been forgotten by the two men.
But the Dundee United manager wants to kick-start the Tangerines’ Championship promotion campaign by getting the better of his fellow ex-hearts boss in Inverness tomorrow.
“That was a long time ago,” Laszlo said of the time he was in charge of Ferencvaros and Robertson was in the Jam Tarts dug-out for the 2004 match. “He is a very good friend.
“We will both want to win but our relationship will always be good.
“We had a nice time together at Hearts (when Robertson was a club ambassador). He is not only a football hero, he is a good man.
“I was so happy that he got back into management after a lot of years out. It’s fantastic that he’s back. There’s no problem between me and him.“
Earlier in the season Caley Thistle had the look of a team destined for back-toback relegation battles but Robertson has transformed the Highlanders into play-off hopefuls.
“They have recovered well,” said Laszlo.
“It is not the best time to travel to Inverness.
“But if we want to reach our target of getting to first position we have to go for three points. We can’t hide from that.
“After losing to Morton I know that the opponents will know that we are looking to fight back and might be dangerous.
“If we win everything it will look a bit better.
“After that we have Aberdeen. If we win that, which is possible, the dynamic has changed again.
“Against Dunfermline (after the thrashing at Falkirk) we had a good reaction and we want the same at Inverness.”
