Mccunnie in charge at Fed

-

Broughty manager Jim Finlayson resigned from his position at Whitton Park after last week’s defeat by Dundonald Bluebell and Jamie Mccunnie is expected to take charge of the side for the Super League trip to Broxburn.

A positive for Mccunnie is that he has no fresh injury concerns for the game and he expects to have the same squad that were on duty last weekend. Kick-off at Albyn Park is at 2.30pm. Dundonald Bluebell have trimmed their squad this week with Ricky Patrick moving to Hill of Beath and John Martin moving to Burntisland Shipyard on a permanent deal.

In addition, striker Callum Smith has been placed on the transfer list. However, Stevie Kay has added midfielder Kyle Bell on a development loan from Raith Rovers and he comes straight into the squad for the visit of Newtongrange Star to Moorside Park.

Lochee United take on leaders Bonnyrigg Rose at Thomson Park.

Manager George Shields will be back in the dug out following a holiday and will be looking for his side to continue their form of last week, when they thumped East Kilbride Thistle 5-0 at home.

United expect to have a full squad available apart from long-term casualties Bryan Deasley and Kevin Buchan.

Kennoway Star Hearts face a difficult trip to take on Penicuik Athletic.

Last week saw Hearts crash out of the Scottish Cup – 6-2 at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy – and they will have to serve up a much better performance against Johnny Harvey’s side who are just three points behind leaders Bonnyrigg having played a game more

In the Premier League Kirriemuir Thistle will be hoping that they can replicate the form of their last game at home to Musselburgh Athletic as they take on Dunbar United at Westview.

Thistle inflicted Musselburgh’s only league defeat so far last time out but will be well aware that Dunbar were stung by last week’s defeat at home to Tayport.

St Andrews United boss Craig Morrison insists his side are full of confidence and will have a go as they take on title favourites Musselburgh at Olivebank.

The Premier League leaders sit 10 points clear of Haddington with Saints in third. The United boss has a full squad available for the game apart from the suspended Ryan Mcinnes.
