Limousins in demand as averages increase
Top price of 13,000gn paid for intermediate champion
Limousins met a good steady trade at the Stirling Bull Sales yesterday with a top price of 13,000gn paid for the intermediate champion.
Averages were up £712 on last year’s fixture with 62 bulls selling to average £5,814 and a clearance rate of 82%.
British Limousin Cattle Society chief executive Iain Kerr said: “It’s more than coincidental that the bulls that were selling well had really good calving figures.”

By Netherhall Gilbert, and out of Dyke Florette, he sold to R Dunlop and Son, Pinvalley Farm, Girvan.
