Wanderers face leaders in crunch Division 1 clash
Dundee Wanderers entertain National League Division 1 leaders Grange in the only match tomorrow.
Wanderers are well placed in sixth spot but that is only one place above the four teams who will be involved in an extensive relegation struggle.
St Andrews University face Gordonians for the second time in a week on Sunday and must surely hope for better than last week’s seven-goal defeat.
St Andrews are likely to remain in mid-table while Gordonians are pressing hard for outright promotion.
Wanderers II are a little way off contention for promotion from Central division 2 but are only a point behind thirdplaced Hillhead III and, with a game in hand, might yet have an influence on the top two places – provided they can win tomorrow.
Meanwhile Grove Menzieshill play their first two matches in Minsk in the Eurohockey Indoor Club Trophy today.
They play Polish outfit Pomorzanin Torun followed by a clash with Bra from Italy.
Tomorrow sees them face Slagelse of Denmark before classification matches in the evening and again on Sunday.
Captain Gavin Tomlinson said: “We aim to medal, but have had a dip in form. Some of the other teams will have players who have just played in the Indoor World Cup, so we know it will be difficult.”
