Bollan aims to follow example set by Clyde

-

Cowden manager Gary Bollan is fed up with hard-luck stories and has told the Blue Brazil to defeat hosts Clyde today and use the victory as a springboard to get off bottom spot.

“Clyde are on the type of run that gives us inspiration and belief that we can move up the table. They were on a long run without winning a game and, as soon as they won one, the confidence they gained saw them go on a strong run of four consecutive successes,” he said.

“The 12 points they have picked up have turned their season around, and that is what we have to start looking at.”

Bollan added: “It can be done and it would be great to kick a run off at Broadwood, but to do anything we have to keep David Goodwillie quiet.”

With nine points separating Cowdenbeath from secondbottom Edinburgh City the Central Park manager knows that winning is now everything.

“Last weekend against Stirling we lost a goal to a penalty and another goal to an individual error,” he said.

“We recovered from the penalty but could not recover the second time. However, I am pretty fed up with hard-luck stories,” he added.

“I have said we have been unlucky too many times, and we now need to start winning matches. It is as simple as that.”

Jamie Pyper and Fraser Mullen return from bans, but David Cox is suspended and Joe Mcgovern remains out injured.
