Sir, – It is quite apparent that the 13 Conservati­ves at Westminste­r will not stand up for Scottish interests and are nothing more than lobby fodder.

With Theresa May and the cabal of extreme right wing Brexiteers aided by an equally right wing, dogmatic DUP determined to ruin us all with their almost fanatical adherence to right wing politics, it is time to listen to the common sense approach displayed by Nicola Sturgeon and her team.

We should all get behind her efforts to have a common sense approach to the single market and customs union, regardless of a belief in independen­ce or not.
