Schools to take centre stage at Rock Challenge and J Rock
Four Angus schools will be taking part in Rock Challenge and J Rock at the Caird Hall in Dundee on Wednesday.
The events are universally inclusive with secondary schools, colleges, academies, schools catering for students with special needs and independent schools all encouraged to take part.
Next week’s event is the result of much planning and dedication.
Arbroath High School will be showcasing their performance before travelling to Grimsby to compete at the Northern Premier Final in June, as they have retained their position in the Premier Division.
The event at the Caird Hall will also include Kinross High School, Larbert High School, Montrose Academy, Arbroath Academy, Stenhousemuir Primary School, Kinross Primary School, Strathmore Primary School, Forfar, and Abernethy Primary School.
Montrose Academy will be hoping to emulate their previous achievements, having placed first at their 2017 heat, where they won 11 Awards of Excellence, including the Performers Choice Award.
Assistant event manager for the UK Rock Challenge, Charlotte Payne said: “The ethos of supporting other teams and making healthy and positive choices which is encouraged by Rock Challenge is always so well embraced by everyone who takes part.
“It is great to see the teams encouraging one another during the day and congratulating each other on their performances, and is one of my favourite things about Rock Challenge and J Rock.”
