Woman sent pictures of herself undressed to martial arts teacher

-

A woman has admitted “sexting” naked photos of herself to a martial arts teacher when she was a teenager.

The woman, now aged 25, told a jury that Gary Goodrum had asked her to send him titillating images after groping, touching and kissing her when she was 15.

She said there were daily exchanges of sexual messages and images between them before she turned 16, after which she had consensual sex with him.

She claimed Goodrum, 38, of Corsiehill, Perth, would take her out of class to fondle her in the corridor of his Gary Lee Martial Arts Academy, which was based in an annexe of Inverkeithing High School.

She told the High Court at Livingston: “He would kiss me and he would touch me.

“I felt a bit taken aback. I was a bit awkward, a bit reluctant to begin with when this first happened. But I was flattered and I was attracted to him.”

She revealed that she had been more than willing to cooperate with Goodrum’s request to see pictures of her in various states of undress.

Goodrum was formally acquitted yesterday of having underage sex with the woman in 2007 or 2008 after advocate depute Stephen Mccloy withdrew the allegation.

Goodrum, 38, remains accused of seven counts of using lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour towards underage girls, including the witness due to give evidence, between April 1998 and March 2009.

He he is also charged with an indecent assault and a sexual assault on two of his eight alleged victims.

Goodrum has pled not guilty to all the offences, which the Crown claims were committed in vehicles and at addresses in Fife – including at Goodrum’s kick boxing academy in Dalgety Bay, at his parents’ home in the same town and at the secondary school.

The trial continues.
