Walker debut goal not enough to clinch victory

-

Marc Walker scored on his debut for Brechin Vics as the Angus side crashed 3-1 at home in their home North League clash with Scone Thistle.

Walker – on loan from Carnoustie Panmure – gave Phil Mcguire’s side the lead on 28 minutes, but Scone drew level in first-half stoppage-time through Max Avolio.

He then put the Perth side in front on the hourmark.

Arran Mckay made sure the points headed back to Perthshire with a third with seven minutes remaining.

Arbroath Vics led 1-0 at half-time against Coupar Angus at Foxhall Park but the home side were level through Stuart Banks within 10 minutes of the restart.

The visitors went back in front on 63 minutes and managed to hold on to take the points.

East Craigie gained revenge for their thrashing at Blairgowrie earlier in the season with a 2-1 win at Craigie Park and what proved to be the winner was a collector’s item.

Nik Mann scored the Shipbuilders’ first and Darren Neave replied for the Berrypickers.

However, the Craigie winner came from Connie Howitt – his first goal for five years.

North End had to settle for a point from their visit to Kinnoull.

Ryan Smith put the Dundee men in front on six minutes but Kinnoull were level on 14 minutes through Jack Hutchison.

The Perth men looked to have won it but Kieran Sturrock equalise with three minutes remaining.

Violet were able to take advantage of North End’s draw with their 3-0 win at home to Newburgh at Glenesk Park.

Gavin Thomson, Steve Harris and Steve Duffy were the Violet scorers.

Forfar Albion and Lochee Harp served up a bizarre game of 11 goals – with eight of them in the first half.

Albion went in at the break 5-3 in front but the Dundee side eventually ran out 6-5 winners.

Jay Smart, who had already scored at both ends, hit a second with a bicycle kick late on.

The other Harp goals came from Josh Perera, Graham Allan, Brad Miller and Lloyd Young.

As well as Smart’s own goal, Albion goals came courtesy of a Fraser hattrick and Airlie.
