Arbroath man charged with raping two children
An Arbroath man has been charged with raping two children over several years at a house in Dundee.
Jamie Thom appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court to face a series of allegations covering the last four years – up to this month.
It is claimed he targeted one of the two young children, who cannot be named for legal reasons, repeatedly.
He also faces a further charge of sexually assaulting one of the youngsters.
The offences are alleged to have happened at a property in Dundee.
The 29-year-old, of Millfield Road, Arbroath, faced three charges when he appeared before a sheriff.
He is alleged to have raped a child at the house in question on numerous occasions between dates in 2014 and this month.
It is further alleged that Thom raped another child at the same property between dates in 2015 and this month.
Meanwhile, prosecutors also allege that on various occasions between last year and this month, Thom sexually assaulted one of the children at the same location.
When making a brief appearance in private, Thom made no plea or declaration in response to the three charges on petition.
Sheriff Alastair Brown, who presided over the hearing, continued the case for further examination.
Thom was granted special conditions that he does not approach or contact either of the children or their mother. He was also given a special condition of bail relating to being in the presence of certain children under the age of 16, without the presence of an adult who does not have a criminal record.
