Launch of employment service
Scotland’s new devolved employment service has been launched, with the aim of giving job seekers across Angus, including some with disabilities, access to personalised support to find suitable, sustainable work.
Remploy, which forms part of the Fair Start Scotland service, expects it will be able to help more than 2,900 people across the region, as well as in Perth and Kinross and Dundee, access a service tailored to their needs.
Gareth Parry, Remploy chief executive, said: “We are delighted to begin delivery of Fair Start Scotland in Perth and Kinross, Angus and Dundee.
“Remploy has been supporting people in Scotland for more than 70 years and has found work for more than 14,500 disabled people, promoting economic and social inclusion across the country.”
“We have developed an innovative approach to deliver the service in Perth and Kinross, Angus and Dundee, offering people personalised support, designed and delivered in partnership with specialist organisations, to enable individuals to achieve their career ambitions and thrive in the workplace.”
Taking part is voluntary. Participants will have access to a wide range of different support, including face-to-face meetings with employment specialists, guidance on training and qualifications, access to work trials and apprenticeship opportunities, as well as health and wellbeing support.
