Smith only focused on victories

Raith Rovers need favours from Ayr United’s opponents if they are to revive their League One title hopes.

But that won’t alter manager Barry Smith’s tunnel vision.

The Kirkcaldy side are five points behind the Honest Men with three games to play and victory against relegation-threatened Queen’s Park this afternoon is a must.

The Stark’s Park boss said: “Nothing is done and dusted at our end of the table and nothing is done and dusted at the other end.

“We still have plenty to play for and so do Queen’s Park. We have to go out and win and keep things interesting. Mind you so do Queen’s.

“We will look to win. If Ayr drop anything then great, but it does not matter what they do if we do not take care of our own games.”

Smith added: “Queen’s Park will be fighting for everything and in Aidan Keena they have a player who can score goals.

“He has added a lot of threat to their attack. We have enjoyed three wins over them this season but they count for nothing now.”

Last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Arbroath rankles with Smith who said: “There was not much between ourselves and Arbroath last weekend.

“We got our noses in front and I thought that it would stay that way. However, we lost an equaliser late on and that was disappointing.

“It was not a great result at this stage of the season where it is all about the three points but we will move on.”

Goalkeeper Aaron Lennox was injured against the Red Lichties and won’t play.

Kevin Mchattie and John Herron are available after coming through an under-20 game in midweek, while Lewis Vaughan returns from suspension.
