Violet looking to prosper in Glenesk derby clash

-

It’s a Dundee derby at Glenesk Park as landlords Violet take on tenants Lochee Harp.

Harp have conceded 20 goals in the last four outings so the home side will be looking to take full advantage.

Violet are expected to have a full squad available, but that’s not the case for Harp who are without Mark Kelly and Sam Hodgson through injury, while Connaire Connelly is on holiday.

Nobody is expecting Forfar Albion to take anything from North End so the pressure is off for Mark Caldwell’s side.

He said: “I have seen a massive difference in performances of late and hopefully this can be replicated in this game.”

Albion have doubts over a couple of players but expect to have a strong pool available.

North End, who won 8-1 in the game at North End Park, will be looking to keep their title bid on course.

Ross Lunan’s only absentee is Michael Stewart.

Kinnoull manager Alan Cameron knows his side face an Arbroath Vics that, other than last week’s defeat, have been on a decent run, with former Noull frontman Ryan Robb in form. However, Cameron is hoping his troops can build on last weekend’s win and clean sheet.

The Perth side are without Darren Gray, while David Gray will face a late fitness test. Vics will have the same squad available that were trounced 8-1 by Luncarty.

Scone Thistle are looking to put an end to a poor run of form as they travel to Coupar Angus.

Scone were beaten 3-0 by Blairgowrie last weekend but manager Derek Lawson is looking forward to this week’s game as a chance to put things right.

Coupar, meanwhile, have won just one from the last six, including a 3-0 defeat at Kinnoull last weekend. Logan Mcconachie has a full squad available

Lochore Welfare manager Andy Healy says it is important that his young side learn from last week’s defeat at home to Lochee Harp and make sure they play for the full 90 minutes.

Healy has a depleted squad for the visit of East Craigie with Aaron Wood, Logan Donaldson, Kearyn Hicks, Lewis Thomson and Joe Kinninmonth all out injured and Reagan Lumsden ruled out by tonsillitis.

East Craigie, meanwhile, defeated Newburgh 3-1 last weekend and will be hoping they can end the season on a run of good results. The Dundee men are missing four players from their squad for what co-manager Craig Brown sees as a really tough game.

Despite having 10 players out injured, Brechin Vics boss Phil Mcguire is still looking at the trip to Newburgh as a game his side should be looking to win.

It is the first home game for Newburgh boss Scott Hudson and they are looking for their first win since he took over.

Luncarty know that promotion is in their own hands with games in hand on the three teams above them but manager Jonny Kelly expects a difficult afternoon at home to Blairgowrie.

“We expect a tough and physical game from Blairgowrie. They have picked up some form of late and would say that they are in a false league position,” he said.
