Caledonian Marts Ltd, Stirling, sold 182 cattle comprising 81 prime bullocks, heifers and young bulls ,79 cast cows and bulls, and 22 young calves. Prime bullocks averaged 218p. Prime heifers averaged 228p. Young bulls averaged 193p.

Beef cows averaged 153p.

Dairy cows averaged 103p. Bullocks sold to 250p from Learielaw and to £1,783.60 from Todhall. Heifers sold to 252p on two occasions, from Faskine and from Learielaw, and to £1,651.40 from Easter Ochtermuth­ill.

Young bulls sold to 225p from Mains of Throsk and to £1,568.16 from Over Hillhouse. Leading prices: Bullocks ppkg – 248p Easter Ochtermuth­ill, 245p Todhall and Crawtree, 242p Learielaw, 238p Blairhall, 235p Learielaw. Heifers ppkg – 250p Learielaw and Todhall, 248p Easter Ochtermuth­ill, 245p Upper Spittalton (twice) and Faskine, 238p Blairhall, Easter Ochtermuth­ill and Upper Spittalton. OTM cattle sold to 182p and £1,510.60 from Ferguson Bros, Gillanders­land. Beef cows averaged 153p selling to 190p from Glenside Farming, and to £1,430 from Mains of Throsk. Dairy cows averaged 103p selling to 135p from North Bankhead, and to £900 from Walton. Other leading prices: Beef cows – £1,380 Mains of Throsk and South Woodlane, £1,360 Easterton, £1,320 South Woodlane, £1,280 Rathillet.

Dairy cows – £840 North Bankhead, £830 Greenrigg, £770 North Bankhead, £730 East Drumlemble and Boclair. Calves (22) – sold to a top of £230 for a Shorthorn X Heifer calf from Feddans.
