US President on dangerous path

Sir, – Has anyone ever heard a US President use such intemperate language as Donald Trump in one of his latest tweets regarding the alleged chemical attack near Damascus last weekend?

The US leader said “Get ready Russia, because they (missiles) will be coming, nice and new and smart!”.

It is incredible to think that a person in such a powerful position can make such outrageous and inflammatory comments.

Surely before any action was taken here the incident should have been investigated and the identity of the guilty party established.

We all remember being assured some years ago that it was essential to invade Iraq because Saddam Hussein

definitely possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction which he would surely use against us.

If the Syrian Government was responsible for the chemical attack then whoever authorised it must face the severest punishment.

However, the situation in Syria and the rest of the middle east was already extremely volatile.

Unless Donald Trump learns some restraint his inflammatory language may well be leading us into a nuclear Armageddon.
