Council tenants to have their say
Angus Council is reaching out to its 7,500 tenants to gather their views on the services the authority provides.
As part of a major tenant participation push, the local authority has said it is especially keen to engage with the under25s during the 2018 Year of Young People.
A spokesperson said: “We seek to engage with all our tenants in a variety of ways, from the day-to-day conversations with our housing officers to our surveys that cover repairs, tenant satisfaction, as well as news on our website, Twitter and Facebook pages, and our housing team’s blog.”
Key findings of the last major tenant survey included an 82.65% rate of satisfaction with the overall level of council service provided, 89.17% satisfaction over the standard of council houses which people moved into and 97.78% thumbs up for the quality of temporary or emergency accommodation for people who were homeless in the last 12 months.
Communities vice-convener Lois Speed said: “We are doing a great deal when it comes to engagement with our housing tenants, but we can and always want to do more to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.
“The Viewmount development in Forfar was a shining example of how we listen to our customers. Where once were unpopular, unloved flats, that quite frankly no one wanted to live in, we have delivered houses that people are proud to call home and be at home in.”
