Study country pursuits at Elmwood Campus

-

Grow with Elmwood, it’s not too late to apply for the September start. Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) Elmwood Campus is situated in Cupar, Fife, and there’s always something going on.

Their free Family Fun Day returns on Sunday May 13 offering a mixture of activities for all the family as well as the horticulture department’s annual plant sale. College course information along with a tour of the residence will be available on the day as well as the Tay FM Roadshow, craft stalls and lots more.

The college attracts students from across Fife, Perthshire and Tayside and many other areas of the UK as well as European and International students. Courses range from introductory programmes to Higher National Diploma levels, with excellent progression routes to degree programmes at other SRUC campuses and universities.

As funding is increasingly an issue for students, Elmwood can ease the financial burden by allowing you to study to HNC/ HND level locally, before accessing a university course directly into the second or third year.

SRUC Elmwood Campus offers a variety of courses including countryside management, animal care, gamekeeping, greenkeeping, professional golf, golf management, hospitality and horticulture. Limited spaces are still available for the September start.

Along with excellent training facilities, including beautiful grounds and gardens, fitness suite, training restaurant, training kitchen, training bakery and their own 18-hole golf course, SRUC Elmwood also has fantastic links with industry.

SRUC is committed to developing learning and skills for the economy which lead to jobs and life fulfilment.

Courses are designed with a blend of theoretical and practical skills. All of the courses include a period of work experience, which can enhance the student’s CV and offer networking opportunities in his or her chosen industry.

Students who attend SRUC Elmwood Campus will follow a range of paths once they have completed their studies.

For many it is a stepping-stone to a degree qualification, employment or even the opportunity set up their own business.

Getting to Elmwood need not be an issue as there are excellent bus and rail links and the college provides free transport from the Levenmouth and East Neuk areas.

If you are a school leaver or a career changer and would like to know more about what is available at Elmwood, why not pop along to their Family Fun Day on Sunday May 13?

This informal event runs from noon to 4pm and provides the perfect opportunity for you to visit the friendly campus and find out more about what is on offer for 2018. You can also find out what funding and study support is available.
