Strathmore competitio­n draws top talent to Kirriemuir

Players from across the country converged on Kirriemuir for the 35th annual Strathmore Piping Society open competitio­n, held in Webster’s High School.

The event drew participan­ts from as far afield as Peterculte­r and Strathaven for classes from chanter to open competitio­n including piobaireac­hd.

In the junior championsh­ip, Fraser Robson of Broughty Ferry took the title, ahead of Campbell Stewart from Methil and Archie Mcnab, Methven.

The senior championsh­ip was won by Jordan Ednie from Monifieth, ahead of Luke Kennedy, Strathaven and Dundee player Kayleigh Paley.
