Library to enhance services

-

Forfar Library is to provide integrated services to enhance flexibility and convenience for its customers from next week.

Angus Alive employees will now provide face-to-face services from the library, helping customers with advice on Angus Council general and service information including the completion and submission of forms, such as housing and blue badge applications.

Angus Alive chief executive, Kirsty Hunter said: “Customers in Brechin, Kirriemuir and Monifieth have already benefited from the single-site delivery within our library services for the past 11 months.

“In Carnoustie, where the integrated delivery followed an exciting and significant library redevelopment, we’ve seen a 28% increase in visitors to date. We’re pleased to now be able to provide an integrated service from Forfar Library as we continue to look for ways to enhance our customer offering.”

Clair Tracey, facilities officer at Forfar Library, said it was an excellent opportunity for customers to reach a whole range of services under the one roof.

She said: “Whether you are visiting us to take part in a regular library activity including favourites such as Bookbug or you are making use of our resources in our Peoples’ Network IT centre, customers will now be able to access the face-to-face customer services across our opening times, including one late night during the week and Saturdays.”
