Gareth Murray of Arbroath produced another dominant performance to help Glasgow Rocks reach the semi-finals of the BBL play-offs with a 99-75 win over Surrey Scorchers at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow.

The Rocks now face London Lions in their bid to reach the finals, with the away leg on Thursday and the return at the Emirates Arena on Sunday.

Down two from the first leg in Guildford Rocks soon took the lead on aggregate and pulled away in the second half for an impressive victory.

Murray scored 16 points as well as adding three rebounds and three assists, while his Commonwealth Games teammates Kieron Achara and Ali Fraser also excelled, Achara scoring 12 and adding seven rebounds and three assists and Fraser scoring 11 points and adding four rebounds.

Rocks’ top scorer was Earl Brown with 23 points and he completed a “double double” with 14 rebounds.

Eventually they went down 71-61 despite an outstanding display from American student Rosana Reynolds, who scored 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Scottish point guard Robyn Lewis had 10 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
