Contact the Elderly looking for more volunteers in Angus

-

An afternoon tea for the Brechin group of Contact the Elderly was hosted by local MP Kirstene Hair and her mother Alison, both volunteers with the charity.

The tea was held in Farnell Church Hall and members of the congregation turned up to help.

Brechin Inner Wheel also recently hosted a tea at the Burn in Edzell.

The Brechin Group, now in its 12th year, has grown to the point it will split it into two groups in July.

The groups will run in parallel so numbers can be juggled to suit a host’s requirements.

Some will be able to accommodate both groups.

If anyone feels that they might be able to host or drive, please get in touch as having some reserves is very useful.

There are also a number of volunteering and attending opportunities.

New members are also being sought for the Kirriemuir and Carnoustie/monifieth groups.

Montrose and Forfar are doing well but may need to be split at some time in the future and Tealing also needs spare volunteers.

Laurencekirk is likely to become two groups and is looking for more guests, with plans for a group in Friockheim.

Anyone in Angus and the Mearns who can drive once a month or occasionally, host a tea once a year or knows someone who would benefit from membership, can get in touch.
