Glasgow football trip ends in court appearance for electrician
A trip to Glasgow to enjoy football match hospitality ended in a court appearance for an Angus man after he fell out with his girlfriend on his return home.
Their argument spilled out on to the street and he caused damage to a Mercedes E class car when he pushed her into the driver’s door, causing a dent.
Jordan Will, 22, of Rowan Path, Arbroath, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court for sentencing yesterday.
Depute fiscal Jill Drummond told the court Will visited a number of pubs before visiting the Saffron restaurant with his girlfriend at midnight on March 17.
They were arguing in the restaurant and continued outside.
She said: “He pushed her on the body with force, causing her to fall on to the vehicle.
“She was in tears on the ground and was upset.
“The vehicle had a dent with an estimated value of £100.”
The police attended and found Will’s girlfriend had a bruise on her elbow.
Defence agent Robin Beattie told the court his client was an electrician staying with his mother and father.
“He had been at Glasgow at the football for hospitality and had drunk a lot of alcohol.
“His girlfriend wanted to meet him, he wanted to go home but she wanted to stay out. He is not blaming alcohol, it is a trigger.”
Will admitted the charges of pushing his partner and causing her to fall against a car and damaging the car on March 18 at a previous court appearance.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher ordered Will to carry out a community payback order of 200 hours.
