Midfielder ‘over the moon’ to be signing for Staggies

-

Livingston have lost firstteam regular Josh Mullin to one of the teams they have replaced in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

Ross County have moved in to sign the midfielder as Livingston wait to see whether David Hopkin will remain in charge for their return to the top flight.

Hopkin’s future is expected to be decided this week after Livi spent the week following their play-off win over Partick Thistle working out what their budget will be for the coming campaign.

But Mullin has decided to have another crack at a Championship promotion push after scoring during the play-off semi-final win over Dundee United.

The 25-year-old scored nine goals in 88 appearances for Livi, helping them to consecutive promotions after signing from Albion Rovers.

Mullin wrote on Twitter that he was “absolutely over the moon” to be signing for County but “sad” to be saying his time at Livingston had come to an end.

He added: “I have had an incredible past couple of years with the club winning back to back promotions.

“We’ve done something that everyone thought was impossible.

“Every one of those boys that I shared the changing room with are legends in my eyes.

“I loved my time at Livingston and wish the club every success in the future but for now it’s a new chapter for me and I’m buzzing to see where that takes me.”

County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell told the club’s official website: “We are delighted to have signed Josh.

“He is energetic and versatile and will give us great options in midfield.”
