Group in court on Dundee gun-threat charge

A group of men accused of holding a gun to a someone’s head in Dundee have appeared in court.

Christopher Mcintosh, 36, Rory Starkey, 22, Darren Thomson, 27, and 32-year-old Michael Mcintosh, all described as prisoners at Perth, denied charges at the sheriff court.

All four men deny that between December 25 and January 24, at Prosen Road, Kirriemuir, Restenneth Drive in Forfar, and elsewhere in Dundee, while acting together, they behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that they repeatedly sent messages of a threatening nature to Reace Stewart and repeatedly called him and uttered threats.

The same four deny that, while acting together at Strathmartine Road on January 24, they assaulted Mr Stewart by seizing hold of his arms, preventing him from escaping, kicking him on the body causing him to fall to the ground, holding him there, repeatedly uttering threats of violence, presenting a firearm and placing it under his chin, which prosecutors claim was aggravated by a connection with serious organised crime.

Appearing alongside the men was Claire Mcintosh, 33, of Prosen Road, Kirriemuir.

She denied that on January 24, near the junction of Strathmartine Road and Harcourt Street, she conducted herself in a disorderly manner, shouted at Mr Stewart, followed and chased after him and drove a car towards him at speed as well as other motoring offences and committed a breach of the peace.

She further denied, along with Christopher Mcintosh, that between December 25 2017 and January 24, at Prosen Road, Kirriemuir, and elsewhere in Dundee, they were concerned in the supply of heroin, which prosecutors say was aggravated by a connection with serious organised crime.

An intermediate diet was set down for June 5.
