Appeal to share stories of service
As part of the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service, NHS Tayside is inviting locals to share their experiences and memories of the service and what it means to them and their families.
The NHS was created on July 5 1948 based on the principle of healthcare provided free at the point of need.
NHS Tayside is planning to host a number of events across its sites to celebrate the anniversary and will also showcase the changes and advances made across the NHS over the last 70 years.
Health board chief executive Malcolm Wright said: “The 70th anniversary is not only a celebration of the NHS and its commitment and service, but also a real opportunity to thank the staff at NHS Tayside for their continued hard work, dedication and skill that they provide every day.
“The staff and volunteers across NHS Tayside continue to put patients first and provide the best possible services for our communities.
“We hope many people from across the region share their memories and stories of the NHS to help us celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NHS.”
Anyone who would like to share their photos and memories of the NHS can email them as jpeg attachments to communications.tayside@ nhs.net or post them on NHS Tayside’s Facebook and Twitter pages using the hashtags #nhsscot70 and #lovenhstayside
