Judy Murray to serve up a speech to businesswomen
Tennis coach Judy Murray will be the keynote speaker at the Association of Scottish Businesswomen’s annual conference at Perth Theatre tomorrow.
This year’s conference has the theme of “unstoppable women”.
The mother of Wimbledon champions Andy and Jamie Murray is a former tennis player in her own right, with more than 60 junior and senior titles to her name.
She became Scotland national coach in 1995 and captain of the British Fed Cup Team in 2011.
She has also developed several tennis initiatives to encourage more females into the sport.
“I’m a huge believer in bringing women together to share ideas and to learn from each other’s experiences,” Judy said.
“And this sounds like the perfect opportunity to do all of that.”
Joining Judy at the conference is the author of two highly acclaimed books, Dr Suzanne Doyle-morris of Inclusiq Ltd.
Dr Doyle-morris routinely facilitates sessions at a range of FTSE 100 companies and is interviewed regularly for her views on workplace- diversity issues.
Her expertise regarding gender in the workplace make her one of the most credible speakers on the challenges and opportunities for today’s working woman.
Both speakers – along with panellists Bonnie Clarke, Claire Nelson, Deputy Chief Constable Rose Fitzpatrick and Melanie Blane – will share their experiences of building resilience and developing a strong mindset to overcome every challenge that businesswomen may face.
ASB President Wendy Maltman said: “We have a diverse programme of workshops that will give each delegate practical tools, techniques and inspiration to help them step up, both personally and professionally, in their career, life and business activities.
“Delegates will also have the opportunity to network and meet like-minded businesswomen from throughout Scotland.”
