A leisure park operator is making a major investment to significantly expand its Angus site.

Stewarts Leisure Parks confirmed it is adding a total of 55 new luxury lodges at its Lochlands caravan and lodge site at Forfar.

The move comes as the business – which also operates the 100-acre 60-lodge Grand Eagles Park at Auchterarder and the 30-lodge Lochmanor resort at Dunning – presses ahead with a multi-million-pound 82-lodge commercial and leisure development at North Bank Farm, Lathockar, near St Andrews.

That scheme is expected to create dozens of local jobs when the park opens its doors.

Stewarts is also keen to expand its footprint further, with ambitions to add to its Scottish portfolio and break into the English marketplace.

Co-owner William Stewart said the Forfar development was part of an ongoing investment programme.

“Lochlands holds a very special place in our hearts – we are very proud of this park – and are delighted to be bringing this new phase to the marketplace,” Mr Stewart said.

“It enjoys a superb location just 18 miles from Dundee.”
