Teenager denies assaults at the Pitstop and community campus

A Forfar teenager pled not guilty to two charges of assault at Forfar Sheriff Court.

On the first charge the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied behaving in a threatenin­g or abusive manner, shouting and swearing and uttering threats of violence at the Pitstop in Forfar on January 25.

He denied on the same date and place assaulting a 13-yearold, seizing him by the body, placing him in a headlock, walking him across a room and placed a knife at his neck, all to his injury.

He pled not guilty to the second charge that on May

15 at Forfar Community Campus he assaulted a male, grabbed him by the body, repeatedly punched him on the head and kicked him on the body; denied behaving in a threatenin­g or abusive manner, shouting and swearing at the male; and denied behaving in a threatenin­g or abusive manner in Brechin Road, Forfar, shouting at two Police constables and threatenin­g them with violence.

He further denied on May 25 in Brechin Road, Forfar, he resisted or obstructed two constables by attempting to break free.

An intermedia­te diet of July 24 and trial diet of August 15 were set for the first charge, and intermedia­te diet of July 24 and trial diet of August 20 were set for his second charge.

Also at Forfar: A Monifieth man denied assaulting a woman at the Tayview Caravan Park in Monifieth.

Mark Gillespie, 54, of Dawson Crescent, Monifieth, denied taking hold of her arm, prising her fingers apart, seizing her by the neck and robbing her of her mobile phone.

Trial was set for July 4.
