Burton ‘the right move’ for Fraser
Former Dundee United midfielder Scott Fraser has joined Burton Albion on a two-year deal, writes Ian Roache.
The Brewers, who are managed by Nigel Clough, have won the race for Fraser, who was also interesting Hearts among others.
Fraser expressed his delight at sealing the move to the English League One side after leaving Tannadice at the end of last season.
He said: “I’m very happy to be here. I think it’s the right move for me.
“When I found out what clubs might be interested this was the best feel I got and having spoken to the manager and coming down to see the ground and training facilities, I think it’s a club where I can get better as a player.
“I’m an attacking player who likes to get on the ball, whether that’s midfield or more of an attacking position.
“I like to create chances and assists for my team-mates but I want to add more goals too.
“I was coming to the end of my contract and was speaking about a new one, but I just felt a change was needed to move away, grow up and try and improve as a player.
“And everything about this move felt right.”
Burton boss Clough, who has also signed former Hearts and Hamilton attacker David Templeton, said: “Scott is a young, attacking midfielder who we feel has got potential to improve.
“He can play in a few different positions and is very keen to come down to England to make his mark.
“The Scottish market remains a good option for us as we look to build a team for League One.”
