The Courier & Advertiser (Angus and Dundee)
‘Tis the season to be planning your Christmas!
It pays to plan ahead and whether we like it or not, the height of summer is also high time to get those Christmas parties booked and organised.
All over Courier Country, hotels, pubs and restaurants are putting on their festive thinking caps and opening their diaries for group and company bookings.
Especially if you have your eye on a particular venue, it pays to get in there early and get that booking made. There is so much on offer that there is bound to be something to suit your needs, whether you are on the hunt for the perfect party night, a festive-themed menu or a children’s Christmas show.
Party nights at local hotels or restaurants are a great option for celebrating with colleagues or a larger group of family or friends. Opt for a package with food and entertainment included to guarantee a great night out.
Costs can start to mount up as we get closer to Christmas, so book now to take advantage of any early bird offers – it will be a great feeling to know that at least some of the cost is already paid off in advance of the celebration.
Make sure that everyone has the important dates in their diaries as everyone’s social lives get hectic in the countdown to the festive season. If you are planning a large party or gathering, then act now as not all venues can
accommodate big numbers and remember that you may need to stick to hotels or other venues which can accommodate large groups. Some offer great party nights, with a sit-down meal or buffet, followed by entertainment in the form of a live band, ceilidh or disco so you can all dance the night away together.
Don’t forget to check the venue can accommodate your party, together with any special requirements such as wheelchair access or special dietary needs before you book – and you will need to reconfirm numbers closer to the night.
If you are after a more low-key affair, more informal lunch options are available at many restaurants, so if you are a smaller party, why not opt for a local restaurant, which offers a Christmas menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients.
If you are having family to stay for Christmas, why not consider treating them (and yourself) to Christmas lunch in a hotel or restaurant this year.
Leave the cooking and washing up to the professionals while you enjoy a specially prepared roast with all the trimmings.
Whether you love the traditional roast turkey or fancy something a bit more unusual, there is a great choice of venues offering tempting festive fare.
