Funding boosts for local groups
A budding Arbroath sportsman has received cash backing from a trust which supports the town’s social and cultural activities.
Teenager Ryan Cooper from Arbroath will put the £500 towards his costs representing the Junior Scottish Clay Pigeon Shooting Team.
The grant is part of a £4,750 payout from the William Coull Anderson Trust.
Tayside Council on Alcohol received £250 towards the cost of a trip for youngsters, while Arbroath Instrumental Band will use £500 to buy instruments, music stands and enter competitions.
The Royal Marines Volunteer Cadet Corps will use their £500 grant to buy uniforms, and Arbroath and Montrose District Explorer Scout Unit will put their £500 towards the cost of tents and camping equipment.
The Skilz Academy received £500 for a UV sport and physical activity project.
The Arbroath and Montrose District Scout Council was awarded £500 towards the cost of alterations at Arbroath’s Keptie Scouting Centre.
Arbroath Adoption and Fostering Group received £250 for ski lessons, Arbroath Sea Cadets have been given £500 to create a storage area and Angus Alive received £250 to develop children’s activities at the Signal Tower Museum.
Arbroath Lads 2005 Team received £500 to help members play at the 2019 Manchester Cup and tour premier league grounds.
