WRI BULLETIN
STRACATHRO. Members visited the Webster Theatre in Arbroath where they saw Aladdin, with a meal at the Town House afterwards. President Jane Cuthill thanked the ladies who organised the trip.
FARNELL. Members celebrated the rural’s 99th birthday with a meal at Stroma in Montrose this was then followed by a festive quiz. Competition: best wrapped parcel – 1 Sarah Ramsay, 2 Norma Short, 3 Alisha Grassick.
WESTMUIR. The Christmas meeting was held at Armstrong’s. Members were welcomed by vicepresident Johanna Watson and after she had said Grace everyone enjoyed a lovely meal. Competition: decorated gift – 1 Heather Forrest, 2 Johanna Watson, 3 Sheila Ireland.
ST VIGEANS.
Ann Frith presided. Margaret and Lily from Friockheim helped members to decorate ceramic snowmen. Competitions: decorated parcel – 1 Lesley Masson, 2 Sylvia Tasker, 3 Rose Norman; Christmas mug or cup – 1 Janice Swankie, 2 Ann Findlay, 3 Sylvia Tasker.
EASSIE and NEVAY. Members held their 97th birthday and Christmas party in the Ardler Tavern. After an enjoyable meal, president Linda Brown presented the trophies. The Wedderspoon Cup was won by M Cosgrove, the Struthers Cup was won by S Mitchell, and the Stewart Cup was jointly won by F Brown and S Mitchell.
GLENISLA. Heather Kelly from Baked by Belle gave a demonstration on making chocolate truffles. Jill Redpath proposed thanks. A Christmas party was held for the children in Glenisla. Silly McB the clown entertained. Competitions: truffles

TEALING. Vice-president Sheila Forbes introduced Alison Thornton who demonstrated the art of fruit and vegetable carving. Competitions: hot water bottle cover – E Strang; flower of the month – 1 E Duncan, 2 E Strang.
PADANARAM. President Margaret Mands welcomed members to the 99th birthday party and Christmas meal at Chapelbank in Forfar. Guests included honorary member Mary Mitchell. Competition: decorated box of sweets – 1 E Kidd, 2 N Craig, 3 A Davidson.
AUCHTERHOUSE. Members enjoyed a 1920s-themed party in celebration of Eileen McLeod’s 90th birthday. Competitions: 1920s headdress – 1 F Husband, 2 P White, 3 P Turns; wedge of gin and tonic cake – 1 M Steel, 2 A Black, 3 E Denyer; flower of the month – 1 E Denyer, 2 P Turns,
3 M Steel.
FETTERCAIRN. Helen Ritchie welcomed everyone to the Christmas dinner in The Arch. Morag Christie provided two short quizzes and a secret Santa was handed out by Helen and Chris.
NEWTYLE. Evelyn Stirton presided. Members enjoyed an evening of canapes and cocktails made by Judith McVicar who was accompanied by Joyce Ramsay entertaining members with accordion Christmas music. MEMUS and FERN. Members enjoyed their Christmas meal at Kirriemuir Golf Club. Davina Farquarson wished everyone a safe journey home.
COLLISTON. The Christmas Celebration Night in the village hall was shared with members of Letham WRI and Arbirlot and Carmyllie WRI. Con Fuoco Brass played festive tunes before some carol singing.
