Play-off hopes not over yet for Bollan, despite defeat

-

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan is looking for his men to pick themselves up from their defeat to Annan by seeing off bottom side Albion Rovers at Central Park tonight.

The loss saw the Blue Brazil fall 12 points behind the fourth placed Galabank men in the promotion hunt. However, Bollan is not for conceding anything.

“It is all about bouncing from that result,” he said.

“It hurt our hopes of being involved in the play-offs. However, it has not killed them off. We will still look to get there and winning the three points from this game would help us do that.

“We played well enough in the first half. However, the second half was disappointing.

“There was not enough fluency in our play and we did not pass the ball well enough. We also lost bad goals at bad times as we did not defend second balls well enough.”

The Coatbridge side head to Fife having secured only one win all season. However, Bollan is not writing them off.

He explained: “They might be having a difficult season. However, we have not beaten them yet. In both our games so far we have had to come from behind and secure a 1-1 draw.

“It would be good to get ahead in this one and stay ahead.”

Bollan added: “They have changed almost their entire team since then and Kevin Harper has improved them as a team

“They still have plenty to play for as one result would take them close to Berwick. back

“However, we will not be looking to give them a helping hand.

“We are at home and we will be looking to take the game to them.”

On-loan Celtic defender Robbie Deas has returned from Scotland under-19 duty and is expected to reclaim his place in the heart of the Blue Brazil defence.

Jason Talbot remains out with a knee injury with Bollan’s son, Luc, who joined on loan from Dundee United on Friday, suspended after being sent off at the weekend.
