More of same please, says Flyers coach Dutiaume

Fife Flyers entertain bottom club Milton Keynes Lightning tonight and coach Todd Dutiaume would love to see an action replay of the club’s performance against Belfast Giants.

Fife lost 3-1 to the current Elite League pacesetters in a TV game after shipping two goals inside the final three minutes.

However, the Canadian said his men produced one of their best performances of the season against a quality side: “We looked engaged, dangerous at times and it was an exciting game to watch.

“The atmosphere in here was great, even though there was not an incredible amount of people. It was loud.

“I think it is the kind of hockey people want to watch but for the last three games we have been playing at a level we would expect out of these players.

“It is something I knew we were capable of all year but it was just a matter of finding a way to drag it out of them. They responded well and it is a shame to lose a hockey game in that fashion.

“If you look at our four defencemen they did a heck of a job moving the puck quickly into our forwards’ hands and not getting a lot of pressure on them.

“I thought our forwards did a good job too – pucks down low, making sure we did not turn over unnecessary pucks and we had guys above of the puck all night. You have to do that against this team.”
